It's true, Batman is filming in Pittsburgh, and I am pretty excited about it. In the heart of all the world's growing pains and insanity right now, somehow Hollywood manages to make it all shiny and new..... but as excited as I am for the caped crusader, I am far more thrilled to let you know, if you hadn't already heard.....
The larger than Lifesize Mousetrap is in town!!!!! These old friends of mine from Burning Man and beyond have been working on this artistic physics experiment and wonderment for over 15 years. When I see them at their big shows in California or New York, they let me sing in the Bathtub of the Mousetrap before they drop the bowling ball into the trebouchet..... We are having a gala event to open their week long installation at the Carnegie Science Center this Saturday and I really hope you can attend. It's not a cheap event, but it is soooooo worth it. Trust me. Besides, you can come back all week long the following week to see it during Science Center hours for free, it's by the river, next to the submarine. Joe Wos from The Toonseum helped put this together, so come out to the event and tell him he rawks. Cuz he does. He's not just a pretty face who can draw a mean 'toon, he is a mover of mountains......
Saturday, August 13 · 7:30pm - 10:30pm
Carnegie Science Center
1 Allegheny Center
Pittsburgh, PA
Kick off this SMASHING exhibit with the ‘cheesiest’ party in town. For the first time ever, the nationally renowned Life-Size Mousetrap and its crew will perform in Pittsburgh. See this incredible spectacle, with local performers like Phat Man Dee, Andrew the Impaled, the Reverend David Apocalypse, bellydancers Olivia Kissel, Rose Harden and Lady J, JD Limelight, Jesse Roadkill and music by Guaracha Latin Dance Band in a show that makes physics so rockin’ it would make Isaac Newton drop his apples. Science, music, drinks, juggling, and a two-ton safe falling from a 30 ft. crane…you won’t want to miss this.
Tickets include two evening performances of the Mousetrap, live music, three drinks, and munchies including assorted cheeses and desserts. Add-on a Laser Show or Omnimax movie at the door for only $5!
$40 advance registration/$45 at the door
Ages 21 and over
RSVP by Thursday, August 11
