I'll See You in Spetempber!!!

What does September mean to you? To some it means the return to education, the end of summer, or the cooling of the daze (unless you live in South America and then I think that's totally opposite?) but for me, it is the continuation of a cycle and the burgeoning of a movement that has long been building. I am so excited to announce that I am releasing my fourth studio album and my dear husband of 12 years is releasing his FIRST studio album at one massive and beautiful CD release party!

And I can hear some of you asking now.... "But wait, Mandee, is it true that I might see you before Sep 24? It just seems so far awaaaayyyyy!!!!" And it's true, I am guilty of not following advice, I do over book myself, but when the world presents you with such great opportunities, who am I to say no??? So....

Tomorrow September 6, 2014 - Noon - 2 p.m.
At noon, I am singing and helping to organize and event with Pittsburgh Families for Justice as Healing at hostoric Freedom Corner in the Hill District. We demand justice and change. We stand in solidarity with Ferguson and all victims of police violence. We are working to create a world where our children can grow up without fear that the people sworn to protect them are not the ones who are killing them. We gather at noon, and after there is a march to see a movie shown by Answer Pittsburgh about police violence. Performances by Black Rap Medusa, Phat Man Dee, Geña Música, Mr. Able/GME, 1Hood Media and more. Speakers include Pete Shell, Melanie Diore, Renee Gray, Andre Scott, Essence Howze, Pastor Shanea Leonard, Nicky Jo Dawson, Jessie Farine, Mike Battle and more.
Freedom Corner is on Center Ave in the Hill District just before downtown, Pittsburgh, PA
